Charity concert – Osijek
The Osijek branch of the international medical students’ association CroMSIC has been nurturing the tradition of organizing a special event called the “Charity Concert of Medical Students” for many years. This concert, traditionally held during the pre-Christmas season, has become a well-recognized cultural and humanitarian event in the city of Osijek.
The most recent, thirteenth edition of the concert took place in December 2024 at the Mladost Elementary School, attracting great public interest and strong community support. The Charity Concert is one of the most important and recognizable projects of our association. Its main goal is to raise funds that are entirely donated for humanitarian purposes – either to individuals in need, or to non-profit organizations and local communities actively engaged in social support. Assistance has so far been directed towards people living in poverty, large families on the brink of subsistence, victims of abuse, and individuals suffering from severe and rare diseases.
What makes this project particularly valuable is the fact that it is entirely conceptualized, organized, and carried out by students. In this way, the concert not only contributes to the welfare of the community, but also fosters the development of social responsibility, empathy, and active citizenship among young people. The performers are mostly students of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek – musicians, singers, choirs, and dance groups – who contribute to the humanitarian goal with their talent and voluntary engagement.
The organization of the concert requires significant effort in terms of time, logistics, and financial resources – from renting the venue and technical equipment, to creating promotional materials and ensuring basic conditions for performers and guests. Considering the scale and impact of the project, additional financial support would enable further growth and professionalization of the event, while also expanding the reach of humanitarian aid.
In December 2025, we plan to organize this noble event once again, with the aim of continuing the tradition and further strengthening the humanitarian spirit among young people.
