CSC – Clinical skills competition
NKV – Clinical Skills Competition
The Clinical Skills Competition is a unique student competition intended for 4th, 5th and 6th year medical students. The main goal of the project is to bring clinical work closer to students and provide them with additional opportunities to apply existing knowledge and acquire new skills outside of regular classes. Through clinical case studies, surgical suturing workshops, laboratory diagnostics, and ALS and PALS simulations, participants test their diagnostic and practical skills in conditions that simulate real clinical practice.
Through the competition, students gain valuable experience in performing clinical examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests, taking patient anamnesis, and establishing trust with patients; in this way, it prepares future doctors for clinical rotations and specialization.
The project also places strong emphasis on the development of so-called soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, adaptation to working conditions, working under pressure, and problem-solving skills – which are key to the future medical profession. In this way, the competition strengthens students’ professional skills, encourages and develops critical thinking skills, and builds confidence in decision-making.
The results of the project include successful collaboration with doctors from the local clinical hospital center, as well as professors from the local medical school, and encouraging students to engage in additional extracurricular activities.
